   Quickfire debate.
   Wednesday, October 06, 2004, 8:23 PM

The event was held in the huge Lecture Theatre (LTJ-2) with steep steps. Scary! Banu and i were mumbling utter crap due to being overly nervous while the other DT team comprising of Mastura and Leen were shivering in silence. There were 14 teams, which means 7 match-ups. Mine was the 5th.
Quickfire simply means that the motion is given to the teams involved only several minutes before the commencement of the debate (in this case, only 20 minutes!). My motion was rather simple (phew) compared to some others: Adaptibility, rather than strength, is the key to survival.

My team was the Government and i was the 2nd speaker. Banu was frightened for the first 20 seconds of her turn and then suddenly, she turned into a monster and threw all the rage to the opposition team through her tone and words! It was fantastic and insane, not forgetting entertaining yet creditable. She did a great job. The crowd loved her... Hahaha.

I spoke rather okay, didn't feel the nerve as much as i thought. Dr Ronnie said i was 'among the top' in terms of individual performance. Some others complimented me personally too, so thanks!!!!! I'd have to share the credit with Banu too, though :)
It's nice seeing the A' Level studs' ass being whipped.

There wasn't any 2nd or 3rd prizes like last semester (according to our seniors). 1 winner, and COP's for all. Arsely organizers! My group could've gotten at least 3rd!!! Oh wells, it's the feeling of experience which really satisfies me, and i guess the top 3 position is just something that i must forget about to live on. And i kinda have this drive in me already, to try and join whatever activies or events held by SHS because the experience awaits you, you can't wait for the experience.

I felt good after that. Thanks to all the well-wishing and especially to those who came and supported us!!! DT year 1s and 2s alike! We appreciate it a lot!!! Thank you guys!!! I wasn't expecting any support coz i felt like i didn't need any, but i came to realize that it was the greatest boost ever and it helped me out a lot. To those who promised to come but did not, next time, don't promise at all... I'm not affected, but bare in mind that some others do...

Anyways, there wasn't anyone else whom i really felt like sharing this to, but... i guess it wasn't meant to be... Just another day, perhaps?
